Reflection

We stand and lift up our hands
For the joy of the Lord is our strength
We bow down and worship Him now
How great, how awesome is He
And together we sing
Holy is the Lord God Almighty
The earth is filled with His glory
Holy is the Lord God Almighty
The earth is filled with His glory
The earth is filled with His glory
This song has been stuck in my head since yesterday. Taking time to reflect this morning on just how blessed I truly am. That God would send his only son to die for me and my sins. Imagine doing that, sending your son to die for people who are undeserving. I can't even fathom it. I love my son as I know God loved his. So he must really love us to do what he did. I am SO greatful that he did. I hope to make God proud of me. The way I am proud of my children.

Growing up so fast!

We bought Madi and Makayla new bikes this year for their birthdays. Makayla got hers early for so many reasons, but she realizes that that is her birthday gift from us. Mason cried because he wanted a big boy bike, or in other words the bicycle that looks like a dirt bike. I told him when he learns how to ride without training wheels we will get him a big bike. I should have thought that through a little more. Because as soon as we got home he demanded we take his training wheels off! And so in that one day....or actually first couple tries, he was riding a two wheeler! That little guy amazes me! When he sets his mind to it....he does it!

And no he did not get the new bike, it's way too big for him to ride without training wheels. He wouldn't even be able to touch the ground. But he hasn't even brought it up again. I think he's pretty happy that he's riding a two wheeler.

My little girl is a BIG GIRL

The Invitation ......

The morning of her birthday!

The birthday "week" started with breakfast in bed. Madison requested...pancakes, sausage, orange juice, and a special note about her. And she got it........

Followed by me and Arden picking her up from school for a fun trip to the dentist. Lucky for her, it was an appointment for Arden. But after his appointment we took her to see a movie that she was dying to see. It was "How to train your dragon" in 3D! She loved it! Then we went home and had a mini celebration with Nick and Sam...our little neighbor friends.

We got her a new "big girl" bike for her birthday. She can finally ride without training wheels, so she has earned herself a new bike. She picked a lavender one, of course, that's her favorite color. Then saturday we had a party for her with all...okay maybe not all but  most of her friends. We had a pinata, water balloon toss, pin the heart on the crown, birthday trivia, and a game where you tie a balloon around everyones ankle and you have to try and pop others balloons.                      Our Party Decor!

The Day My Life Forever Changed.

Eight years ago today, my life changed forever. I became a mother to a beautiful 7lb. 13.5 oz. baby girl that we named Madison (meaning good) Day Mast. I was in labor for 11 1/2 hours with her. You couldn't force her into this world, even then, she had to come when she was ready. She's that way even now. You can't rush her, she likes to take her time in everything she does. She had lots of black hair. Teeny tiny fingers and toes. I couldn't get over how tiny she seemed. This was all so new to me.  It was a great day. First hot day we actually had that year. I remember how excited I was to take her home and have her all to myself. I remember leaving the hospital trying to squeeze her car seat into the back of her fathers mustang. I remember it all like it was just yesterday. I remember introducing her to her brother and sister. And Miles being so excited to hold her. Also I learned a very valuable lesson early on...NEVER wake a sleeping baby just to see her....LET HER SLEEP! You WILL regret it! This was the best day of my life.

I tell her the story of the day she was born over and over. And she loves to hear it. She was my angel. She saved my life and I truly believe that. For reasons that she doesn't know right now but one day I will explain it to her. She changed how I would live the rest of my life. I was young. Madison was born about a month before my 19th birthday. It didn't matter how young I was, I was her mother. And I'm so proud to be her mother. She will forever and always be my angel, sent from God. I love her so much!

The BIG fish!

So Madi got a call from her friend Sayra. She wanted Madi to come over & play for the day. Well lets just say Mason didn't handle this well. He wanted to go to Sayra's house too. So I thought that we should do something special with him. Maybe that would keep his mind off of sissy being gone. I called a good friend and co-worker, Sandra. She has a farm with a pond, a duck named Mr.Quackers, and GIGANTIC FISH!

You've never seen fish like this! I actually hand fed them. Scared me REALLY bad the first time. And I didn't really like that the one splashed me in the face and got me all wet. But it was fun! I can't figure out if he liked the fish or the golf cart ride the most. By the time we left Mason was ready to pitch a tent by Mr. Quackers cage and stay the night. Geesshhh! But as soon as we got home and he realized his sister STILL wasn't there.....he was bored. He had NOBODY to play with. His words not mine. He literally waited by the door for her to come home. Wow! He really loves his sister.
I have to say that my son has this special place in my heart. There is a difference between a relationship with your daughter and one with your son. One is NOT better or stronger than the other....it's just simply different. A little boy has a way at tugging on his mothers heart. And Mason has a very good hold of mine. I love being his mom.

Easter....A Time To Reflect, Remember, & Be Thankful

Well first we started our Easter weekend by.......getting baskets. Full of goodies. Mostly "Florida" stuff. Towels & little games & notes pads for the drive to Florida in July. The baskets are for them to go through all their toys and put the "keeper" stuff in their new bins & everything else will be sold in a garage sale! And it's about time!

PEEPS!!
So as every Easter Sunday (and every regular sunday) should go, we started off by going to Church. I always look forward to Easter Sunday at church. It moves me. I love looking back and what Jesus did for us and just remembering. Taking the time to be thankful. And of course it was a fantastic service. One of those messages that gives you chills. It sticks with you throughout the whole day.

Next we were off to Aaron & Brandy's house for Easter lunch. We ate.....waaayyy too much and had an Easter Egg hunt.

Then afterwards the guys/boys got a baseball game going. Of course...it's never a Mast Family get together if the guys haven't started some sort of outside sport or activity. Love it!
Thank You Jesus!
